Job summary

Solaris HealthCare Daytona Beach is seeking a compassionate Cook to join our Five Star Rated facility. The role focuses on preparing tasty, nutritious meals that meet diet orders and facility standards, in a clean and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as blender, mixer, fryer, slicer, steamer, food processor, convection oven, stove, oven, steam table and tilt skillet.
• Wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits for preparation.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation during all food preparation and service.
• Assist with special function meals and complete work assignments.

Purpose of Your Job Position

The primary purpose of your job position is to prepare and serves nourishing and attractive meals and other foods as required to support the menu specific to diet orders and other center events, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and Solaris HealthCare’s established policies and procedures.

• Reviews menus, production and prep guides to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared.’
• Prepares all meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure the utmost in quality with a minimum of waste.
• Uses nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required.
• Operates a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blender, mixer, fryer, slicer, steamer, food processor, convection oven, stove, conventional oven, steam table and tilt skillet.
