Job summary

Solaris Healthcare Charlotte Harbor is hiring for a Full-Time Activities CNA.

The primary purpose of your job position is to prepare and serves nourishing and attractive meals and other foods as required to support the menu specific to diet orders and other center events, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and Solaris HealthCare’s established policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and write required.
• One to two years cooking experience in a large-scale operation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves nourishing meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Ensures sanitary food preparation and minimizes waste.
• Operates kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, steamers and slicers.
• Follows recipes and adds gravies, sauces and garnishes as required.
• Completes work assignments and supports special function meals.

• Reviews menus, production and prep guides to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared.’
• Prepares all meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure the utmost in quality with a minimum of waste.
• Uses nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required.
• Operates a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blender, mixer, fryer, slicer, steamer, food processor, convection oven, stove, conventional oven, steam table and tilt skillet.
• Wash, peel, cut, and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare for use.
• Tests and observes food by tasting for palatability.
• Slices portions of meat for individual servings.
• Follows recipes.
• Add gravies, sauces, and garnishes as required.
• Prepares and assists with special function meals.
• Completes work assignments.
