Job summary

Solaris HealthCare Daytona Beach is seeking a compassionate Cook for a part-time role at our Five Star Rated facility. The Cook will prepare and serve nourishing meals in accordance with menus and dietary orders while maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of cooking experience in a large-scale operation and a high school diploma or equivalent. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth within our caregiving team.

• One to two years as cook in a large-scale operation, preferred.

• Reviews menus, production and prep guides to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared.
• Prepares all meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure the utmost in quality with a minimum of waste.
• Uses nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required.
• Operates a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment such as blender, mixer, fryer, slicer, steamer, food processor, convection oven, stove, conventional oven, steam table and tilt skillet.
• Wash, peel, cut, and shred vegetables and fruits to prepare for use.
• Tests and observes food by tasting for palatability.
• Slices portions of meat for individual servings.
• Follows recipes.
• Adds gravies, sauces, and garnishes as required.
• Prepares and assists with special function meals.
• Completes work assignments.
