Job summary

Pflugerville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pflugerville, TX is seeking a Dietary Aide to support the dining services for residents. You will follow the direction of the CDM to ensure meals are prepared, served hot, and dining areas are cleaned after meals.

The role requires basic high school education, a Texas Food Handler Certificate, and prior kitchen experience; PRN shifts may include weekends and evenings, with opportunities to contribute to a compassionate, resident-centered dining

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Texas Food Handler Certificate required.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food prep and serving to residents.
• Set up and pass trays for meals.
• Stock snack cart and maintain dining area.
• Dishwashing and kitchen cleaning.
• Follow handwashing and safety guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by CDM or Executive Director.

Primary Responsibilities

The Dietary Aide follows the direction of the Certified Dietary Manager and state guidelines to ensure that food is properly prepared, served to residents, and after meals are completed cleanup of the dining hall and dishes.

Essential Functions

• Assist with food prep and cooking following universal precautions and state/federal regulations


• Preparing and serving beverages


• Setting up and passing trays for meal service


• Stocking snack cart


• Bussing of tables and trays


• Cleaning the kitchen work area


• Dishwashing


• Follow proper handwashing guidelines


• Additional special projects or tasks can be assigned at times by the CDM or the Executive Director

QualificationsEducational/Training Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Licensing Requirements

• Must have Texas Food Handler Certificate

Experience Requirements

• Working in a commercial kitchen experience is preferred
