Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking a Dietetic Assistant to perform a range of foundational food service duties in patient menus, the tray line, and the cafeteria.

You will assist with meal assembly, dish room, utilities, and cold food production, while maintaining sanitation, safety, and quality control.

Strong team collaboration and good customer service are essential in this busy health system; 36 hours per week; non-exempt status starting immediately.

Qualifications

• Must have Food Handlers card or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• PIC training provided through County Health Department.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work areas for operation per task assignment and maintain sanitizer strength.
• Set-up area and restock; keep area clean and orderly.
• Produce and maintain attractive, appetizing, high-quality food and beverages.
• Follow menu cycle, portions, and standardized recipes; use leftovers with FIFO.
• Greet customers, take orders, and provide courteous service.
• Address customer complaints politely and seek management assistance when needed.
• Clean spills promptly and post caution signage; remove trash.
• Merchandise area with clean, uncluttered presentation.
• Ensure all activities meet sanitation, safety, and quality guidelines.
• Document temperatures and alert facilities/management of issues.
• Operate, clean, and store equipment properly.
• Store and label food items and chemicals correctly.
