WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals seeks an evening shift dietary assistant to provide direct patient meal service and tray delivery. You will follow diet restrictions, use EPIC and VST, and ensure accurate calorie counts while maintaining sanitation and safety standards.

You will work with nursing staff and dietitians to meet patient needs, handling special requests and documenting tray details. The role requires excellent customer service and the ability to stand long hours in a kitchen

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from MCHD prior to starting.
• Must obtain a MCHD Temporary FSWP by the first Wednesday of employment and a permanent FSWP within 1 month.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Responsabilités

• Answers phone calls from patients following customer service standards.
• Adheres to diet restrictions, including allergies and fluid restrictions.
• Uses EPIC and VST for patient information and menu requests.
• Processes meal nourishment orders and prints for kitchen staff.
• Follows dept. procedures for missed meal reports and alerts nursing as needed.
• Delivers or retrieves meal trays as required.
• Assists patients with menu selections and records entries according to diet restrictions.
• Delivers meal trays within service guidelines for timeliness.
• Maintains sanitation, infection control, and two patient identifiers.
• Documents information required for ordered calorie counts.
• Works with nursing staff and dietitians to meet patient nutritional needs.
