Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal service and kitchen operations. You will learn the standard food service routines rapidly, set up meal trays, assist with serving, and help maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.

You will also monitor dishwasher operations, assist with inventory, and participate in ongoing dietary staff training. This role requires teamwork across departments and physical stamina for the daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios in practical tasks.
• Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions.
• Physically capable of standing and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines quickly and adapt to shift needs.
• Set up meal trays and assist with serving.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwasher at shift start.
• Observe dishwasher cycles and operate the dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks and assist with kitchen duties.
• Sweep and mop kitchen; carry out trash and keep areas clean.
• Store groceries safely and maintain a sanitary kitchen.
• Support training of dietary staff and cooperate with other departments.
