Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to support kitchen and dining services. You will learn routines quickly, set up meal trays, wash dishes, assist with serving meals, and maintain sanitary conditions in a low- to moderate-noise environment while supporting cooks and dietary supervisors.

Responsibilities include monitoring dishwashing parameters, handling nourishments, cleaning, and participating in staff training. Equal opportunity employer; ability to work well with others across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must obtain and maintain a food handler's certificate.
• Ability to learn the food service routine quickly.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routine within a short period.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe water temperatures during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate the dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop the kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Store groceries safely.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary; assist cooks and dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Cooperate with personnel in all departments.
