Job summary

PACS Group is seeking a kitchen/dietary support staff member to assist in meal preparation, dishwashing, and general kitchen duties. The role requires learning the food service routine quickly and maintaining sanitary work areas across shifts.

The candidate should be able to help with food preparation, serving, and kitchen cleaning, while adhering to safety and hygiene standards. This position emphasizes teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food handlers’ certificate required.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and technical procedures.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
• Ability to solve practical problems and follow written or oral instructions.
• Ability to work in cooperation with personnel in all departments.
• Standing/walking frequently; lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routine quickly.
• Set up meal trays and assist with serving.
• Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at start of shift.
• Observe the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen; carry out trash disposal.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary; assist the cook or dietary supervisor as needed.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
