Job summary

PACS is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with meal service, dishwashing, and kitchen upkeep under the supervision of the Cook and Dietary supervisor. The role requires quick learning, accuracy in following recipes, and a commitment to cleanliness and safe food handling.

The position emphasizes teamwork across departments, with responsibilities including tray setup, serving, dishwashing, and basic food preparation. A high school diploma and a food handlers’ certificate are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read procedures and follow recipes.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers’ certificate.
• Ability to work cooperatively with staff across departments.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays and assist with serving meals.
• Learn food service routines quickly and accurately.
• Strip and wash returned trays; operate the dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks as needed.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Observe chlorine concentration and water temperature in dishwashing area.
• Carry out trash disposal and grocery restocking as required.
• Participate in staff orientation and ongoing training.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
