Job summary

Kalispell dietary aide position reports to the Cook and Dietary supervisor. The role requires learning the food service routine quickly, assisting with serving meals, and operating the dishwasher to support a clean, safe kitchen.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to obtain a food handlers' certificate. The job involves lifting up to 50 pounds and standing most of the shift. Starting wage is $18/hour, DOE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Learn the food service routine within a short period.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe water temperatures of dishwasher during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen and maintain floors.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary; assist Cook or dietary supervisor as needed.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Participate in orientation and training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
