Job summary

Gallatin Nursing & Rehab is seeking a dietary aide to assist with meal preparation and service under the supervision of the Cook and Dietary supervisor. The role requires quickly learning routines, setting up meal trays, washing dishes, serving meals, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to read procedures and follow recipes, and obtain a food handlers' certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers' certificate.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines quickly.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Observe water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen in a clean and sanitary manner and assist when called upon by the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Ability to work in cooperation with personnel in all departments.
