Job summary

Cal Block, LLC is seeking a Dietary Aide to perform designated work and cleaning in the Dietary Department and to report to the Dietary Manager; in the manager’s absence, to the Cook.

Responsibilities include assisting in meal preparation and service, setting up dining areas, washing dishes, following infection control policies, and reporting any safety or equipment issues. The role requires a High School diploma and flexibility for shifts.

Qualifications

• High School graduate; prior institutional dietary service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Numerical accountability for recipe preparation and measuring cleaning agents; good dexterity.
• Able to work flexible hours, including emergencies; patient with staff, residents, and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned.
• Provide assistance to the cook in meal preparation and service.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and dietary policies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals.
• Set up the dining room and serve residents.
• Wash and store dishes.
• Report damaged or unsafe equipment; follow reporting procedures.
