Job summary

Archway Management is seeking a Dietary Aide to support the dietary department in a long-term care setting. You will assist with meal prep, service and dining room setup while maintaining sanitation standards and resident dignity.

The role requires High School completion and some dietary service experience; candidates should be able to follow recipes, work with dietary restrictions, and adapt to flexible schedules, including emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School graduate and previous institutional dietary service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Numerical accountability for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals; good motor coordination and dexterity.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including emergencies; be patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, families.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
• Assist cook in the preparation and service of meals.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Department Policy and Procedures.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals.
• Setting up the dining room and serving the residents.
• Wash and store dishes.
• Report supplies and equipment needs per established procedures.
• Maintain sanitation and safe work environment; follow infection control policies.
• Ensure residents are treated with kindness, dignity and respect.
