Job summary

Socorro Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents in a timely and appealing manner. The role requires safe, sanitary cooking practices and a professional appearance in daily interactions with residents.

The cook will follow Federal, State, and Corporate guidelines while supporting the dining program and ensuring resident rights are upheld.

Qualifications

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Basic understanding of cleanliness, organization and safety.
• Prior food service and/or long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares nutritious meals and supplements for residents in a timely manner.
• Ensures safe and sanitary preparation and serving practices.
• Presents a professional image to residents through dress and conduct.
• Adheres to company standards for resolving resident concerns and protecting residents’ rights.

TECHNICAL

• The cook prepares, in a timely manner, nutritious and attractive meals and supplements for all residents according to Federal, State and Corporate requirements.
• Performs duties in a safe and sanitary manner.

ADMINISTRATIVE

• The cook supervises staff in the absence of the Director of Nutritional Services.
• Attends meetings and in-services as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

CONSUMER SERVICE

• Presents professional image to consumers through dress, behavior and speech.
