Job summary

Hope Springs is seeking an enthusiastic Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and assist in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will help with meal preparation, serving, and daily kitchen tasks in a supportive, compassionate environment.

Responsibilities include sanitation, food safety compliance, inventory support, and collaborating with the dietary team to create a positive dining experience for residents. Prior food service experience is welcome, but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a food service role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: prepare, portion, and serve meals per dietary plans.
• Sanitation & cleanliness: maintain kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment.
• Resident support: assist with meal setup, serving, and dining experience.
• Food safety: follow protocols for storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory support: help receive, store, and flag shortages.
• Team collaboration: work with the dietary team to ensure smooth operations.
• Resident engagement: accommodate special dietary requests as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.

Qualifications:
