Job summary

Cherry Springs Village is seeking a friendly Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and assist in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will help with meal preparation, portioning, and serving according to dietary plans, while maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.

This role emphasizes teamwork, courteous service, and support for residents, including accommodating special requests and ensuring a positive dining experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior experience in a food service role is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain kitchen and dining areas, wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance during setup and serving, ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, proper storage and sanitation practices.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies; notify Dietary Manager of shortages.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen/dining operations.
• Resident Engagement: Fulfill special dietary requests and meet residents' preferences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
