Job summary

Kingswood Reserve is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our kitchen team. You will assist in preparing and serving meals, ensuring dietary plans are followed and residents have a positive dining experience. This role requires adherence to food safety practices and strong teamwork.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and a genuine desire to work with the elderly. Prior food service experience is a plus; excellent communication and customer service are essential.

Responsibilities

• Food safety: follow protocols for storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory support: assist in receiving and storing food, check stock levels, notify shortages.
• Team collaboration: work with dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen/dining operations.
• Resident engagement: fulfill special dietary requests and respect individual preferences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident Engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
