Job summary

Estes Express Lines in Joliet, IL is seeking skilled diesel mechanics at all levels to repair and maintain diesel engines, trucks and forklifts, inspect and diagnose, and interpret work orders.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, 17+ years old, experience or trade school, own tools, and be able to lift heavy weights; CDL with FMCSA compliance preferred; strong problem solving and teamwork required; ability to work nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• 17+ years of age.
• Minimum 1 year experience and/or trade school completion or equivalent.
• Able to use hand tools and test equipment.
• Must own tools and knowledge of PM criteria.
• Heavy truck repairs knowledge, diesel engine diagnostics.
• Adaptable to changing technology and updates.
• Strong mechanical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to lift roughly 70 lbs and work various shifts.

Responsibilities

• Repair and preventive maintenance of diesel engines, trucks and forklifts.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and maintain equipment.
• Perform safety inspections and prepare FMCSA and other regulatory documents.
• Interpret work orders and manuals; replace defective parts as needed.
• Test repaired equipment to meet specs and regulations.
• Maintain regular attendance and willingness to work nights/weekends.
