Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a skilled technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, trucks, and forklifts. You will inspect, diagnose, and service equipment, interpret work orders and manuals, and ensure compliance with manufacturer specs and FMCSA regulations.

You will also conduct safety inspections, replace defective parts, and test performance. Ability to work nights and weekends and lift heavy loads is required. CDL may be needed for driving responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• Must be 17+ years of age.
• Minimum 1 year experience or completion of trade school; or equivalent education/experience.
• Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment.
• Must have own tools.
• Must know general repairs and PM criteria.
• Knowledge of heavy truck repairs and diesel diagnostics is preferred.
• Must adapt to changing technology and updates.
• Mechanical ability and interest in engines, electronics, and precision equipment.
• Must lift ~70 lbs. and work in various positions.
• Valid CDL and acceptable MVR required if driving on public roads.
• CDL holder must be registered with FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• Good verbal and written communication and listening skills.
• Self-starting and organized.
• Willing to work all shifts, including nights/weekends; flexible schedule.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Repair and preventive maintenance of diesel engines, trucks, and/or forklifts.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform maintenance on equipment.
• Perform safety inspections and prepare FMCSA documents.
• Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
• Repair or replace defective parts and systems.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and compliance with specs.
