Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is hiring a Technician in Bangor, ME on 2nd shift. You’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet to keep customers on the road. This role offers growth through hands-on training and access to Penske’s certification programs.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical inclination, 1–2 years of repair experience, and a valid driver’s license. Safety and reliability are emphasized, with support from experienced supervisors and modern tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• Understand and comply with Penske safety policies; DOT/OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance repairs such as tire replacement/rotation and lubrication of components; some electrical and cooling system work on gas/diesel engines.
• Learn new skills with manager guidance and Penske technician training programs.
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
