Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking an experienced Technician in Bronx, NY. You will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet, using Penske tools and technology to diagnose and complete repairs.

You’ll learn Penske’s maintenance processes and participate in hands‑on coaching from experienced supervisors, with strong emphasis on safety and quality. Responsibilities include maintaining vehicle safety, performing diagnostics, and supporting a range of maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive Penske and customer vehicles.
• Strong customer service and communication skills; ability to work in a team and outdoors.
• Must comply with DOT/OSHA and Penske safety policies; background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service vehicles to ensure safety for customers.
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotation and lubrication on gas/diesel engines.
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and coaching.
• Take on additional projects as assigned by supervisor.
