Job summary

Penske is seeking a Technician in Bronx, NY to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. You’ll log repairs with Penske tools, assist with basic diagnostics and support safety requirements in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• The ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• The associate must understand and comply with Penske policies including DOT/OSHA safety rules.
• Regular, predictable full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Must meet DOT requirements and may travel for training if needed.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotation and lubrication on gas and diesel engines.
• Partner with manager to learn new skills via Penske’s technician training and coaching.
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
