Job summary

Penske in Jessup, MD is seeking a Technician to perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. You’ll use Penske’s tools, document work, and diagnose basic vehicle issues while learning advanced maintenance through certification programs.

The role offers a Sunday-Thursday shift 6:30am–3:00pm, competitive starting pay of $24.25/hour, and opportunities for growth, safety training, and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1–2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to solve problems and comfortable using tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Team player and able to work outdoors.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Use Penske’s tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance and component replacements on gas and diesel engines.
• Learn new skills through Penske technician training and coaching.
• Take on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
