Job summary

Penske in Jessup, MD is seeking a Technician to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a wide range of vehicles. The role offers a 2nd shift with a $2.00/hour premium and a path for training and growth.

You will work with experienced leaders, use Penske tools for diagnostics, and contribute to safety and reliability on the road. Candidates with 1–2 years of auto repair are welcomed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to solve problems and use tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and outdoors.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must follow Penske safety, DOT, OSHA policies and maintain certifications.
• Willingness to travel within near geography for training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotation and lubrication, some electrical and cooling system work.
• Learn new skills via technician training and hands-on coaching with a manager.
• Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
