Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to solve problems and comfortable using tools.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
  • Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance repairs such as tire replacement and electrical system repairs.
  • Partner with a manager to learn new skills.
  • Work on other projects and tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Ready to accelerate your career while helping our customers move forward? As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the newest, best-maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry, helping customers keep their vehicles in shape and on the road.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
  • Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
  • Perform preventative maintenance repairs – such as tire replacement/rotation, component lubrication and replacement, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
  • Partner with a manager to learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
  • Work on other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor.

  • Regular, predictable full attendance is essential.
  • Current DOT qualification file maintained (including MVR checks, DOT physical, safety performance history, and CDL drug screening if applicable).
  • Willingness to meet required schedule, location, application process, background screening, drug screen, physical, and potential travel for training.
Physical Requirements
  • Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods.
  • Use hands routinely for grasping, reaching, touching, handling, and operating tools or controls.
  • Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
  • Work in all weather conditions.
  • See and hear to navigate safely around large truck traffic.
  • Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg); push/pull truck tires exceeding 100 lbs.
