Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a Technician in Frederick, MD to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet. The role emphasizes safety, training, and career growth, with opportunities to learn Penske’s maintenance processes and technology.

You will work with experienced supervisors, have access to the Penske Technician Certification Program, and participate in continuous training while maintaining high safety standards and quality work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outside
• Basic computer skills
• Must understand and comply with Penske policies
• DOT/OSHA safety requirements and background checks
• Regular, predictable attendance required

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and ensuring vehicle safety for customers
• Using Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics
• Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on gas and diesel vehicles
• Learning new skills through Penske technician training and coaching
• Working on other projects as assigned by supervisor
