Job summary

Penske is seeking an entry-level Diesel Technician/Mechanic III at our San Antonio, TX location. You will perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on a diverse fleet, learning Penske’s maintenance processes and diagnostics tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 1-2 years automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• Adherence to Penske safety policies including DOT/OSHA requirements.
• Must meet DOT driver qualification and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire replacement/rotation and lubrication; some electrical and cooling system maintenance.
• Partner with supervisor to learn new skills through Penske’s training and coaching.
• Handle additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
