Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. in Jessup, MD is seeking a diesel/auto technician ready to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a modern fleet.

You’ll use Penske tools and diagnostics to keep vehicles safe and on the road, with a structured training path and steady schedule. This role offers second shift with a $3.00/hr premium, a competitive starting rate of $25.19/hour, and opportunities for growth, stability, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
• The associate must be able to work well as part of a team and outside.
• The associate must be able to perform all work adhering to DOT, OSHA and Penske safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our customers.
• Using Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Doing preventative maintenance repairs—like replacing or rotating tires—and completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
• Partnering with your manager to learn new skills using Penske technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
