Job summary

Penske in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Technician II to perform preventative maintenance and repairs across a diverse fleet of vehicles. You’ll work with minimal supervision, diagnose problems, and maintain vehicles to keep customers on the road.

You’ll gain hands-on training with Penske’s equipment and certification programs, mentor junior technicians, and contribute to a safe, efficient shop environment. This role offers clear opportunities for growth and strong team support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• 3 years of practical experience with vehicle maintenance required.
• Specialized training in diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials).
• ASE Certification and 608/609 certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make sure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
• Perform preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision
• Repair and troubleshoot engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems, etc.
• Keep work area clean and safe
• Use Penske tools/technologies to log, research and complete repairs including basic vehicle diagnostics
• Learn new skills through Penske training
• Work on other projects as assigned by supervisor
