Job summary

FleetPride is seeking a Technician II to perform preventive maintenance and advanced repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers. You will diagnose vehicle system failures and propose precise repairs, with supervision as needed.

The role requires hands-on expertise with brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, and fuel/tank components. A Diesel Technology degree and 3+ years of Class 7/8 experience are preferred, with a strong safety record and tool readiness.

Qualifications

• Diesel technology degree required.
• 3+ years of experience with class 7 & 8 trucks.
• Experience repairing 53’ trailers.
• Welding and airbrake certification required.
• Must provide hand tools and toolbox.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunction.
• Provide customers with preventative maintenance solution when appropriate.
• Maintain 80% productivity.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrications and filter replacements.
• Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes (air, hydraulic, electric and brake accessories).
• Test drive vehicles and diagnose system failures using proper equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair suspension systems, including Hendrickson systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, exhaust, steering, A/C, PTOs and custom exhaust systems.
• Adjust, remove and replace clutches and drivelines.
• Troubleshoot and repair fuel tanks, fifth wheels, hitch assemblies, and frames.
• Perform alignment and wear-related repairs on axles and components.
• Perform basic aluminum and steel wire welding.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
