Job summary

Hub Group seeks a Fleet Technician 3 to diagnose, adjust and repair Class 8 tractors and trailing fleet equipment, including diesel engines, electrical, brakes, cooling, and transmissions. You will perform preventive maintenance, repair tires, and ensure DOT compliance with a strong emphasis on safety and service quality.

The role requires welding skills (MIG/TIG), proficiency with diagnostic software, and the ability to mentor others while documenting work in the system.

Qualifications

• 4 years practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational / Technical or certification preferred.
• Demonstrated customer service and relationship building skills.
• Expert understanding of fleet maintenance policies, DOT standards and industry practices.
• Proficiency with tools of trade including welding equipment and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, adjust and repair class 8 tractor and trailing fleet equipment.
• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services.
• Weld in non-standard situations and on varying materials as needed.
• Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances to factory specs.
• Document repairs, mentor other technicians, and ensure DOT compliance.
