Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Technician I to perform preventive maintenance and repairs across a diverse fleet.

You will lead with expertise, mentor others, and work independently on major and minor repairs while diagnosing issues and completing maintenance tasks. We emphasize learning Penske’s maintenance processes,advanced vehicle technology, and ongoing technician training to help you grow your career.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical experience with truck and trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational/technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting of engines, transmissions, differentials; ASE Certification and 608/609 preferred.
• Experienced using all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools).
• Valid driver's license required, CDL preferred.
• The ability to solve problems and strong customer service skills.
• Must work well as part of a team and be able to travel as needed.
• DOT/OSHA safety policies compliance and use of PPE.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing vehicles to ensure safety for customers.
• Performing preventive maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) and replacing assemblies as needed.
• Keeping work area clean and safe.
• Using Penske tools and technologies to log and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Learning Penske's technician training programs to advance skills.
• Taking on additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
