Job summary

Carvana is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our Fleet Maintenance team, working on a Class 8 truck and trailer fleet to ensure uptime and reliability. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and keeping records up to date.

Daily tasks include diagnosing electrical and engine issues, servicing aftertreatment systems, and performing regenerative cycles. Growth opportunities exist within a rapidly expanding company with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with heavy-duty Class 8 trucks and trailers or similar equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and using a laptop for manuals.
• Experience with aftertreatment systems and electrical diagnostics.
• MIG welding experience is a plus.
• Two ASE Certifications within the first 6 months of employment (reimbursed).
• Requirements: A valid Driver's License with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Routine Maintenance & Repair: perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on the fleet.
• Diagnostics: use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot complex electrical, engine, and transmission problems.
• System Repairs: address DEF/emissions systems, perform regenerations, and change filters.
• Collaborate & Optimize: maintain records, optimize vehicle performance, and minimize downtime.
• Safety First: follow safety protocols and DOT compliance.
