Job summary

Carvana is actively seeking a Diesel Technician to join our Fleet Maintenance team in Tooele, Utah. You will work on Class 8 trucks and trailers to keep the fleet safe, reliable, and on the road, with daytime hours and potential overtime.

This role emphasizes diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and aftertreatment system service. We support ASE certification efforts with reimbursements and internal training, including DTNA ARC coursework, and offer competitive pay with benefits and growth

Qualifications

3+ years of experience with Heavy-Duty Class 8 trucks and trailers or similar equipment (e.g., agricultural, construction, waste collection truck).
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for diesel engines, transmissions, and vehicle systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic software and using a laptop for manuals.
Experience with aftertreatment systems and electrical diagnostics.
Comfortable with MIG welding is a plus.
A minimum of two ASE Certifications within the first 6 months of employment (we'll reimburse you!).
T-series ASE Certifications are highly valued.
A valid Driver's License with clean driving record
Ability to perform physical tasks associated with vehicle maintenance (lifting, bending, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
A solid attendance record and punctuality are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

Routine Maintenance & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and component replacements on our fleet.
Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot complex electrical, engine, and transmission problems.
System Repairs: Address issues with aftertreatment systems (DEF/emissions), perform regens, and change filters.
Collaborate & Optimize: Work with your team to maintain accurate records, optimize vehicle performance, and minimize downtime.
Safety First: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry best practices to ensure our fleet is always DOT compliant.
