Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B in Edwardsville, IL to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic systems, and brake systems. The role covers on-site and road service, with opportunities for training in new technologies and career growth.

The position emphasizes diagnosing multi-system issues, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting drivers to keep routes on schedule. A CDL or ASE certs are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3-5 Years of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of both gasoline and diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair or graduating from an accredited automotive college or technical school within the next 3 months.
• ASE Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• Commercial Driver’s License is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a working knowledge of vehicle components and systems, with the ability to perform preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Heating and air conditioning.
