Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician B in South Carolina to diagnose multi‑system issues and perform preventive maintenance on a fleet of refuse collection and support vehicles.

The role includes on‑site repairs, on‑road service, and basic welding/fabrication as needed. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of hands‑on technician experience with gasoline/diesel equipment, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work a regular shift with a safety‑driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi‑system issues with technical proficiency.
• Understand work order labor time standards for repairs.
• Experience with maintenance on light/medium/heavy trucks or similar equipment.
• ASE certifications T1–T8 are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicle components and systems on site and on the road.
• Repair chassis, refuse bodies, and hydraulic/electrical systems.
• Perform light engine, suspension, drivetrain, and HVAC work.
• Weld and fabricate as needed.
• Provide road service to return equipment to operation safely.
