Job summary

Penske in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level for the 2nd shift (Tuesday-Saturday, 2:00pm-10:30pm). A $2.00 per hour shift premium is offered, with opportunities to work on a variety of OEM equipment and advance through Penske’s training programs.

You’ll perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs, use Penske tools for diagnostics, and learn shop processes in a safety‑minded environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Potentially relevant vocational/technical certification preferred.
• 1–2 years automotive/diesel repair experience preferred.
• Ability to use basic tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance, tire rotation, lubrication, minor electrical and cooling system work.
• Learn new skills through Penske’s technician training and coaching.
• Assist with other projects as directed by supervisor.
