Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Shop Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to heavy repairs in a shop environment. You will diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems on trucks, work with the Service Writer, and ensure compliance with safety and DOT regulations.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma/GED, 3 years related experience, a CDL-A, DOT medical card, and ASE certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
• Valid DOT medical card or ability to obtain one.
• CDL-A driver's license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• Interstate regulations require candidate to be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in a shop setting.
• Diagnose, repair, and adjust electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on trucks.
• Utilize tools and equipment, document findings, and upload RO details via Karmak or device.
• Coordinate with Service Writer to identify customer needs and approvals for repairs.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization of the shop and service trucks.
• Adhere to DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations and complete required safety trainings.
