Job summary

Nexus Disposal is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to manage daily operations in our truck maintenance facility in Houston. The candidate should have a strong background in diesel truck repair and proven leadership to guide a team of mechanics and helpers.

Experience with garbage/refuse trucks is a plus but not required; the role focuses on safety, reliability, and fleet performance. Bilingual English/Spanish is required to communicate with diverse staff and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• 5+ years of hands‑on diesel truck repair experience.
• 2+ years of team lead or supervisory experience in a shop setting.
• Proficient with work order systems, inventory management, and repair documentation.
• Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of mechanics, helpers, and parts runners.
• Assign jobs, ensure quality standards, and monitor productivity and safety.
• Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to shop staff.
• Oversee diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance for diesel trucks.
• Identify and resolve issues involving engines, hydraulics, air brakes, electrical systems, and more.
• Ensure repairs are done accurately, efficiently, and within safety standards.
