Job summary

Doggett Freightliner of South Texas, LLC is seeking a Shop Foreman to work with the Service Manager to oversee the shop schedule, assign staff to specific work orders, and assist Shop Mechanics in completing repairs.

The role requires ensuring efficiency, communicating repair status to customers, maintaining detailed records, ordering supplies, and contributing to safety and training programs. A background in diesel/gas engines and supervision is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience with diesel and gas engines and electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong business acumen and MS Office proficiency.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High School Diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee schedule of shop work and assign personnel to work orders.
• Assist shop mechanics as needed.
• Prioritize work to maintain efficiency and productivity.
• Communicate repair status to customers.
• Maintain records of time and performance of service staff.
• Order and maintain shop supplies.
• Support interviewing and selection of qualified personnel.
• Act as site safety supervisor.
• Monitor training needs and arrange required training.
