Job summary

Rush Enterprises in Texas is seeking a Diesel Shop Foreman Technician to lead a team of diesel mechanics and drive shop performance. You will schedule repairs, assign work, mentor technicians, and ensure quality while maintaining productivity and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of supervision experience in a diesel shop.
• Insurability with Company’s carrier.
• ASE Master Certification and/or other manufacturer certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified diesel mechanics.
• Assist diesel mechanics in developing their skills with support of the Service Manager.
• Schedule repair work and assign technicians to mechanical segments matching their skill level.
• Ensure repairs are assigned to mechanics in an equal and fair manner.
• Provide technical support for mechanics when necessary.
• Check progress (W.I.P) of each repair order throughout the day.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks; conduct spot checks for quality.
• Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
• Monitor mechanics’ daily productivity reports and payroll records.
