Job summary

Rush Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Diesel Shop Foreman Technician in Florida to lead the shop, recruit and mentor diesel mechanics, and assign repair work to match each technician’s skills.

You’ll guide daily operations, ensure quality, and support career development within the team. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of shop and technician supervision experience; insurability with the company’s carrier; and ASE Master or other manufacturer certifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of related shop and technician supervision experience.
• Insurability with the company’s carrier.
• ASE Master Certification or Diamond Certification and manufacturer certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified diesel mechanics.
• Assist diesel mechanics in developing their skills with support of the Service Manager.
• Schedule repair work and assign technicians to segments matching their skill level.
• Ensure repairs are distributed fairly among mechanics.
• Provide technical support for mechanics when necessary.
• Check progress (WIP) of each repair order daily.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks; conduct spot checks.
• Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
• Monitor mechanics’ daily productivity reports and payroll records.
