Job summary

Rush Enterprises is seeking a Diesel Shop Foreman to lead a team of diesel mechanics, schedule repairs, and ensure quality workmanship. You will work under the Service Manager to develop staff, assign tasks, and maintain high standards on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Two years’ related shop and technician supervision experience.
• ASE Master Certification program; Diamond Certification Program; Cat, Cummins, Eaton, Fuller, or other appropriate manufacturer certifications are a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified diesel mechanics.
• Assist diesel mechanics in developing their skills with support of the Service Manager.
• Schedule repair work and assign technicians to segments matching their skill level.
• Ensure repairs are assigned to mechanics fairly.
• Provide technical support for mechanics when necessary.
• Check progress (WIP) of each repair order daily.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks; conduct spot checks for quality.
• Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
• Monitor mechanics’ daily productivity reports and payroll records.
