Rush Enterprises is seeking a Diesel Shop Foreman Technician to lead our diesel service team. You will recruit and mentor mechanics, coordinate repairs, and ensure top-quality workmanship while balancing workloads and safety.

This role emphasizes leadership, process discipline, and hands-on oversight on the shop floor. The position offers a strong growth path within a nationwide dealership network, with competitive compensation and comprehensive health benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years’ related shop and technician supervision experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Insurability with Company’s carrier.
• ASE Master Certification / Diamond Certification or manufacturer certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified diesel mechanics.
• Assist diesel mechanics in developing their skills with support of the Service Manager.
• Schedule repair work and assign technician(s) to segments matching their skill level.
• Ensure repairs are assigned fairly among mechanics.
• Provide technical support for mechanics when necessary.
• Check progress of each repair order throughout the day (W-I-P).
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks; conduct spot checks for thoroughness.
• Road test vehicles to verify quality of work.
• Monitor mechanics’ daily productivity reports and payroll records.
