Job summary

Rush Enterprises is seeking a Diesel Shop Foreman Technician to lead a team of diesel mechanics and ensure top-quality repairs across our shop. You will coordinate schedules, provide technical guidance, and monitor daily productivity to drive efficiency.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, safety, and mentoring, with growth opportunities within Rush Truck Centers’ vast network. Competitive pay reflects experience and certifications. 

Qualifications

• Two years’ related shop and technician supervision experience.
• ASE Master Certification program; Diamond Certification Program; Cat, Cummins, Eaton, Fuller, or other manufacturer certifications are a plus.
• Insurability with Company’s carrier.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, and motivate qualified diesel mechanics.
• Assist diesel mechanics in developing their skills with support of the Service Manager.
• Schedule repair work and assign technician(s) to segments that match their skill level to ensure quality.
• Ensure repairs are assigned fairly among mechanics.
• Provide technical support for mechanics when necessary.
• Check progress (WIP) of each repair order throughout the day.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks; conduct spot checks for thoroughness.
• Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
• Monitor mechanics’ daily productivity reports and payroll records.
