Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. We seek a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty mechanical repair under general supervision, with on-the-job training to achieve Service Journeyman status.

Responsibilities include engine work, electrical and fuel systems, transmissions, cooling, brakes, and routine maintenance, with attention to safety and quality. Competitive pay and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs and/or assists in general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience working on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and maintenance.
• Works on major components with supervision.
• Performs troubleshooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area and proper handling of tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safety practices and uses safety equipment; seeks assistance when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
