Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. The company has an opening for a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic who performs heavy-duty mechanical repair under general supervision and participates in a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status.

In this role you will perform general mechanical duties, gain experience on engines, fuel and electrical systems, transmissions, cooling, chassis, and brakes, and attend

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs and/or assists in general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience by working on engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
