Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. We are hiring a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty mechanical repair under general supervision, with on-the-job training to reach Service Journeyman status.

The role includes working on engines, fuel and electrical systems, transmissions, braking, and other major components, with emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience by working on engines, fuel and electrical systems, transmissions, cooling, chassis, brakes, tune-ups and maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area and proper handling of tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safety practices and uses safety equipment.
