Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group, and seeks a Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic in Hobbs, NM. You will perform heavy-duty mechanical repair under general supervision and participate in a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status.

You will gain hands-on experience on engines, fuel and electrical systems, transmissions, cooling, chassis, and brakes; attend training; maintain a safe workspace; and support the Shop Foreman as

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience on engines, fuel, electrical, transmissions, cooling, brakes, and maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs troubleshooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat, orderly work area and proper tool handling.
• Advises Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safe work practices and uses safety equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
